Headaches. Eye strain. That heavy, foggy feeling by 3pm no matter how much coffee we drank. For years we thought this was just how we were built. Some people sleep easy — we weren't those people. We chalked it up to stress, to being "night owls," to needing to just try harder to fall asleep.
None of it worked.
WE TRIED EVERYTHING. THEN WE STARTED DIGGING.
Melatonin. Sleep teas. Blackout curtains. Every trick in every article. Some helped a little. Most didn't. So we started actually researching why — not just what to try, but what was going wrong in the first place.
And that's when we found it: the light. Not sunlight. The other kind — the kind coming off every screen we stared at for 10+ hours a day.
SOMETHING THAT DIDN'T EXIST 20 YEARS AGO
Our parents didn't grow up scrolling a phone in bed at midnight. Laptops, constant notifications, screens lit up from morning to night — this is a genuinely new problem, and our bodies haven't caught up to it.
The more we researched, the more obvious it became: we weren't broken. We were just living through something our biology was never built for.
AND THEN WE FOUND OUT CLEAR GLASSES DON'T EVEN WORK
We tried the clear "blue-light blocking" glasses everyone recommends. They looked normal. They felt like nothing. Because they basically do nothing — most only filter a small slice of the light that's actually keeping you wired at night.
That's when it clicked: if you actually want to block the light, the lens has to be built to do it — not just look like it does.
So we built the glasses we wished existed.
